Karim's Experience
“I started working for Reeves Envico in 2016 following my graduation from a mechanical engineering degree at RMIT University. My first project with Reeves involved working as a contract administrator – very far away from the engineering degree recently completed – on the Kiritimati Water Sanitation Improvement Project and Cassidy International Airport Upgrade. As an avid traveller, Reeves’s projects across the Pacific offered me an opportunity to work in exotic places on water infrastructure projects – a field I am deeply passionate about. Currently, I’m living in Tarawa, working on the South Tarawa Water Project, and delivering – along with a small expatriate contingent – two 3.5 million litre per day desalination plants. Although Tarawa isn’t the most exotic place in the Pacific, working with our I-Kiribati workforce and participating in the South Tarawa Water Supply Project – which effectively future proofs Tarawa’s fragile water supply – is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Undergraduate Experience
We offer undergraduates paid internships while they complete their degree, enabling industry experience concurrent with study. We promote a flexible schedule, designed to fit students as they attend their course at the same time. Internships are offered on a case-by-case basis, please send your CV to David Fair highlighting your interest with a brief description of yourself.
Mitch's Experience
Mitch joined Reeves Envico as a final-year civil engineering student and has been completing a three-month full-time placement with us from Deakin University. During this time, he has been working as a Project Engineer on a Wastewater Treatment Project in Papua New Guinea.
Mitch is based in Melbourne with regular travel to the project site in PNG. Where he has the opportunity to work directly onsite with fellow Reeves Envico employees and local contractors. This experience exposed him to a professional and culturally diverse working environment that is both challenging and immensely rewarding.
“The past two months have provided me with unique experiences that I believe are truly specific to Reeves Envico. Contributing to a project that delivers such an essential commodity as water to a community brings a deep sense of pride to my work.”
